All of you who have been following the blog and/or the show must have listened at some point to Luminus and Quivering using the following phrase: “We have managed to evolve from being carebears to being noobs™”… If you haven’t heard that go check your ears or something cause they’ve been literally spamming it. Seriously, stand up and go check your ears. Now if you have, congratulations, you are healthy (or your ears are sound at least) and you can go on reading this entry!

Well, we evolved alright. But evolving doesn’t necessarily mean excluding all the elements that characterized us as “carebears”. Those elements played a vital role on the shaping of our game style. What I am trying to say here is that we still do carebear stuff. And I am proud to say that I like it. So I was surprised to see that the “Shameless Recruiting Post” entry didn’t include any references to the option of mining in 0.0. Now from this point on I’ll try to convince you to join me in mining operations in the Providence Region under the flag of SI Radio Corp.

Considering that I’ve done mining ops in high sec, low sec, null sec and w-space, I believe that I am an experienced miner. For the past year my corpmates and I have been mining stranded in w-space, spamming directional and hoping that we could either be fast enough to spot a probe on the endless list of items that appear as scan results, or that CCP would some day in add probes to overview and save us time and money. But the list thing never worked, and the overview thing never came. And then Rooks and Kings included themselves into the equation and a volcano exploded in Iceland. So what happened is we came to 0.0 space, but you know that already cause you are following the blog and/or the show (If you are not then you should start looking for a new search engine cause the one you use, got you into a blog for an MMORPG with spaceships) . Anyways, while everyone in my corp was fitting ships to go do ratting, anomalies, pvp and other 0.0 stuff, the first thing I did was to take my covops and fly 100km away from the first Asteroid Belt I could find. And there they were! Concentrated, dense, condensed, massive, solid, rich, silvery…O-M-G. Those we cannot find in w-space! Oh and look…What is that thing in local? Portraits? THIS IS AWESOME, I GOT LOCAL AGAIN!!1! We can now mine without the fear of being victims of surprise butt-rape! Needless to say, at that point I jizzed in my pod.

If you are still reading this and making fun of me for talking about carebear stuff, calling your friends and asking them to post photos of nerdy guys in the comment section of this post and entitle them “You must look like this” you should stop now cause I am familiar with the martial arts and I’ll find you and kick your ass! Ok, maybe not, but still, stop…

Then I turned to my teammates and said “Guys, I think I’d like to go do some mining now, anyone interested in doing some hauling for me and clearing the belts of rats?” Replies to my request varied from: “Go die in a fire you damn carebear faggot” to “Kick, Ban, Kill” and “Oh wait you are serious? Let me laugh even harder”. And I know the guys in real life. I can kick most of their ass as well (martial arts etc, remember?).

Anyways, point is that since all my corpmates have abandoned me between huge asteroid and the benefit of not losing 25% of the minerals to the carbon monoxide that the Refining Array of a POS unleashes into space I am honored to announce that we will be recruiting miners as well because I want to! Fuck Yeah! So here is what you need to know:

UNCLE MERINID WANTS YOU!

Requirements:

You need to be a mining barge pilot that can at least fly a retriever. If you bring a mining battleship in one of my operations I will seek you and I will destroy you in real life after I pay Noir to kill you in game. Don’t even think about it…there is no “but”. THERE IS NO “BUT”!

You need to be willing to participate in mining operations in 0.0 space

You need to be willing to maximize your yield by training in order to able to use all the mining crystals and getting Astrogeology and Mining at V. Also Mining Upgrades skill should be trained. Mining Drone skills are optional.

You need to like mining. Don’t apply as a miner while hoping that I can teach you my martial art techniques, it will never happen.

You need to be friendly and have a good attitude towards all members of the corporation

You do not need to be a main character to join. Alt characters are also welcome, provided that you are active.

Boobs are a plus…no, not man-boob, if you got them keep that info for yourself.

You need to know how to align at a station and how to check local for reds…

Also a plus is to watch TV series and have a second monitor in order to do so when mining. It helps the time go faster if it is 5 o’clock in the morning and no-one is online for you to talk to.

What we offer:

All of the things that Quivering mentioned in the “Shameless Recruiting Post” blog entry. Yes, Corp will provide you with an insured mining ship and the mining crystals you will be needing.

No you are not only wanted for your mining skills. Our corporation activities will be open to you as will any solo stuff that the Providence Region can provide including anomalies, pvp, or whatever else you can think of.

What we need from you:

Send an eve-mail to Merinid Dormer, with a statement or a picture or whatever. no man-boobs please.

User ID and Limited API key in order to check your skills, cause otherwise I risk my mental health when you land on grid with a mining Hyperion and say to me “I need to know what rock you want me to hit first? I got Miner I, Mining Drones, Expanded Cargohold II and I also managed to include a Bucket Of Epic Fail in my fitting. Hooray I am a miner, awesome”.

Be available for an interview with Merinid Dormer through Eve-Voice (date and time will be arranged through eve-mail).

Recruitment will officially open May 1st. Applications before that time are also welcome, but we won’t be able to accept anyone until May 1st.

This is not an invitation to miners only, this is the extended version of the invitation we have already posted. I haven’t posted anything in the blog for a while and I know you missed me. Anyways, Join us in our mining operations. We need you! Together we can deplete belts of their asteroids and have fun while doing it! Let’s Get Rich, Or Die Mining!

You might have heard about it through the podcast at some point. But since most of the times the guys are half drunk and when i join them they are wasted , i though maybe their mumbling wasn’t clear enough and so I said to myself “You know what, I can attend my calculus class today…or i can sit on my pc and make a post about Gravimetric sites in wormholes, post it on the blog and then achieve something for the day”. Cause let’s face it… I prefer rocks!

So…As i said, you might have heard it already from the podcast but back then it was a rumor. So now that it has been confirmed it is my honor and duty to inform miners in wormhole space that if you are depleting Gravimetric sites in W-space within the first day you trigger them then you FAIL!!!It seems that most of the gravimetric sites that are inside W-space have the unique ability to spawn an extra asteroid on their second day of existence. Yes New Eden you heard me right!

To explain it in details. For those of you who don’t know that already, W-space Gravimetric sites have almost all kinds of minerals, unlike what happens in normal space. That means lots of money since there is always Arkonor, Bistot, Crokite etc in those sites. Now the thing is that the signature will stay up for 3-4 days. But if you got a couple of exhumers or barges you are awesome and you can clear it within a day. But you shouldn’t…

It has been confirmed that leaving a couple of asteroids untouched will force the server to spawn a new asteroid of high quality Ore after the next downtime. I don’t think that any miner out there would mind having an extra fat Spodumain asteroid that holds 75.000 units (that showed up in one of our Unexceptional Frontier Deposit sites). Though you should remember that you should clear the whole site but you must leave an asteroid there. Not the whole rock, just a couple of units are enough. What we do is we leave 30.000 units of Veldspar or something of similar quality so we can spend the minimum time possible on it the day that our “present” form CCP arrives.

Other examples of extra asteroid spawns we have encountered are an extra Mercoxit with 45.000 units on it which spawned in a site called Exceptional Frontier Deposit. I cried that day…It was awesome… An Omber with 200.000 units in it, that was inside a Common Perimeter Deposit . We have also confirmed that the extra asteroid that spawn are random. So if you get an Exceptional Frontier Gravimetric don’t necessarily expect that you will get an extra huge Mercoxit.

Anyways, I hope that info was helpful and you guys put it in good use. GO GO MINERS!!!

What Tyrannis is going to be bringing into the equation…

News have come to our ears about the new expansion that will introduce planetary interaction to the world of New Eden, and of course for us wormhole colonists one question came to mind. “Will we be able to use that feature, or will we be forgotten like we were in Dominion?”

The answer was given by Torfi Frans Ólafsson a Senior Producer at CCP through an interview he gave on Tentonhammer.com and we found out through Ninveah.com by Kirith Kodachi. As he stated “..there are over 65,000 planets in the game. And you can interact with each and every one of them. Including those that are in wormhole space, which can actually be quite challenging”…

Planetary interaction is out to set deeper foundation for the future as it seems. What is going to be built on plants for the months to come is actually the board on which Dust 514 is set to be played. Structures, buildings and upgrades that EVE corporations will be setting up are what the mercenaries of Dust 514 will be seeing when landing on a planet.

Although things are still a little vague on how this is going to happen, what skills are going to be needed and so on, we are hoping that this is going to be massive and will add new features inside w-space. After all that “quite challenging” phrasing was promising. All that remains is to see it in action on SiSi.

Stay tuned for more.

A sort non-fictional story by Merinid Dormer

February 14th, Sunday. 19:00 New Eden Time.

Vessper was sitting in his Thanatos. “I am aligning and waiting for instructions” he said.

“10 more minutes to go” said Nictutu.

Quivering Palm with a steady voice continued, “ Guys, this is it. It’s now or never”.

“Let’s secure that tower and the stuff we have in it”, I added with a bit of a doubt in my voice. Hopefully no-one had noticed. Morale was not on the highest levels. Some minor fleet changes of the last minute, nothing i could notice while i was shacking. My fleet fight experience wasn’t helping either. All I could think were the Blueprints, Components and Minerals behind the damaged force field of our Production Tower, sitting just 0.54 AU away. Those were what I’ve been working on for the past few months. All the research and effort Eowarian and I have put on these…

“Everyone who has a cloak jump in, the rest stay in place”. He sounded confident. He was Alekseyev Karrde. The CEO of one of the most notorious and experienced mercenary corporations in New Eden. NOIR. When a mercenary, like his kind, is in your side your only fear is that he might get more money than you gave him from the “enemy”. Alekseyev and NOIR weren’t like this though, they had the reputation of honoring their contracts, regardless of money. “ Members of SI Radio Corp. you don’t have to worry about anything. We are here and we know how to do this. Follow our lead and we will secure your system again.

TechPalatinus was patient. He and his 30 pilots were ready. All of them, well trained and experienced pilots. “We are in place and waiting for orders as well”. Wormhole Space colonist feared his corporation. Capital Construction Research members were ruthless. They were known for destroying Towers and stealing whatever valuables they could find. They were on our side. They have been friends for quite some time now.

“1 minute 30 seconds” said Nictutu.

“TeaDaze jump in” Quivering ordered. Orders is not something that TeaDaze is supposed to take I thought. The guy is a legend. He was always in our side. What a pilot. He was a daredevil.

“There is a command ship that we can provide for you to fly TeaDaze” said Luminus Aardokay. “Well thanks a lot man” answered TeaDaze.

“SI Radio Corp. members, are you ready?” asked Quivering.

One by one, Luminus Aardokay, Nictutu, Vessper, Estar Tarns, Sengiria, Verona Black, Eowarian D, Viscious Hunter, Sir Keldron, Drapetis and myself replied “Here”. 20 seconds of silence followed, or was it like an hour? At that point I couldn’t make the difference.

“Mr Deaker reporting movement in the enemy tower”

“Reinforced is down in our tower” said Nictutu.

“Vessper you are clear to warp” went on Quivering.

“I see an Armageddon Navy Issue, 3 Proteus, 3 Legions, 2 Bhaalgorn, 2 Thanatos and one Megathron moving & aligning towards planet VIII” continued Mr Deaker.

“Let us know when they are on grid Vessper” said Alekseyev

10 seconds afterwards Vessper was already repairing the Shields of our Control Tower. “They are on grid. I got hostiles all over me.”

“Everyone jump in. Quivering move your fleet in.”

TechPalatinus followed. 20 of his best pilots inside Strategic Cruisers.

Rooks & Kings have failed to spot the trap. And they paid the price. The day was to be remembered as Valentine’s Day Massacre.

The fight over our system was over. We were once again the ones to control it. The Siege was over. Things were getting back on track. But I was left wondering. What was to come next?

It was clear to me that Wormhole Space systems are special. Not just another part of space just recently discovered, but the foundation on which the world we live in is going to grow into something greater. The 3rd generation of Cruiser Construction is the present. But scientist are working on different aspects of any technology discovered in wormhole space. Rumors are traveling about 3rd generation Frigates and Battleships. If those rumors are close to being truth one thing is for sure. Wormhole space is the future. This is where new challenges arise. Where money is made. And day by day more capsuleers dare to be bold. More people pack up their stuff and search for glory, money inside wormhole space, setting up colonies. 3rd generation production is profitable. Scientist of all major factions are paying good money to get their hands on items saved from Sleeper wrecks. They call them “Blue Tags”. A single Anomaly once gave our corp “Tags” that worth more than 700 million ISK, the salvaged wrecked provided us with enough materials to build 2 3rd Generation Cruisers.

Pirates, Mercs, Spies, Industrialist, Mission Runners, Miners, Traders. They all want their cut. They will come to take it. And to do that they will need to take control of wormhole systems.

The Era Of Capital Fleet Fights Over Control Of Wormhole Systems Is Upon Us

Are The Colonies Prepared To Defend?
