It is back…

… the thrill of an op into the unknown

… the passion over comms

… the activity of more and more players

… the killmails and the good fights

2011.01.27.04.16.53

We are on the move!

As of last week, we are deploying to claim our new home in deep 0.0. We’ve come a long way since we first moved into our first Class 2 home.

The following pictures featuring 4 Carrier pilots jumping to move some assets is a testament to that.

2011.01.27.04.15.432011.01.27.04.15.532011.01.27.04.16.322011.01.27.04.16.43

I recall back in that first move that there was only 1 of us that could fly an Iteron V and the rest had to help hauling in their Badger I’s… Now the question is “who can spare 5k in their Carrier?”

So… a whole new ball-game now. Alliance chat for one is a very nice addition! Playing with other like-minded players and working for a common goal is a great feeling.

Shout-outs go to Helen Burn Corp and Rule of Five, our two new core corporations in Split Infinity. alliance.

Expect a more detailed report after we claim sov and we are able to talk about it…

Stay tuned!

Who doesn’t need $100?

The boys over at notalotofnews are offering cash prizes for artwork submissions that they can use for their show. I believe the prizes are for 1st, 2nd & 3rd! ($100usd for first)

They make mention of the contest in their Episodes 25 & 26.

If you artistically inclined help these guys out & make a buck in the process. (or if you are a blogger give them some press)

Split Infinity Alliance Mentioned

SI Radio Member Report: Agatir Solenth – 2010.12.03

Greetings my fellow corp men, women, & blog readers!!!

Well it appears we got some press over our new endeavor of the creation of a null sec based alliance.

The guys over at www.notalotofnews.com during the 25th installment of their podcast (Never Gamble with a Professional, minute 35:19-38:16) felt our recruitment expectations were “weird” and “would really not recommend” joining our newly created alliance.

This prompted me to respond in their comments section:

“Good Podcast… Tho I think you missed the premise of QP’s alliance recruitment post! Split Infinity Alliance is looking for like minded individuals & corps that enjoy all aspects of the game (mining, missions, WHs, exploration, industry). However what we learned from our Providence experience, is that to live in Null Sec means you have to defend it! We don’t want carebears… We want Noobs willing to fight for a part of space that will have all the benefits Sov Upgrades have to offer.”

They say that ANY publicity is GOOD publicity!

BTW ~ I recommend you give the Notalotofnews guys a listen. They remind me of few other pairs of podcasters that made a name for themselves bantering about the game of EvE. They clearly enjoy playing the game.

Operation: Bring on the Night

SIRadio operation reports
Codename: Bring on the Night
Objective: Claim blueprints of Noctis
Report from 2010-11-30 by Archentar Symonia

It was a freezing cold day where I live and blazing hot in 4C-B7X, solar system in Outer Ring where Noctis BPOs sale have just started. There was another solar system with sale offers, NM-OEA but it had two major disadvantages that disqualified it as operation target:

  1. It has only one stargate connection which makes it easy to lock out.
  2. It lacks stations with medical services that are essential for using an expendable scout pilot.

Before even ORE released their new blueprint, 3 pilots were positioned within target system. Those pilots were:

  • Dee – a fresh capsuleer with cloning service in 4C-B7X – initially floating in a safe spot.
  • Rut – CovOps scout, also in safe spot.
  • Archentar – operation leader in Legion, docked in VI 1 station.

Main burden of transporting was to be laid on Strategic Cruiser, due to its adaptability to harsh Null Sec conditions. Here is detailed specification:

[Legion, Null Sec Transport]
Legion Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Legion Defensive - Augmented Plating
Legion Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer
Legion Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix
Legion Propulsion - Interdiction Nullifier

Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Sisters Core Probe Launcher (Sisters Core Scanner Probe)
4x Medium Energy Neutralizer II

Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive
3x Large Shield Extender II
Inertia Stabilizers II
3x 'Halcyon' Core Equalizer I
Damage Control II

2x Medium Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

As you can see, it is covert, has pretty strong warp drive, decent tank (45k EHP), scanning capabilities (if only feasible route leads through wormholes) and if all fails, 4 medium energy neutralizers that give a chance of shutting down one or two tacklers.

Due to external reasons, operation started three hours after the release. Rut performed initial recon, and discovered a significant station camp at VI 1. There were more than 20 combat ships and several warp disruption bubbles around it. On the other hand, surroundings of the second station with blueprints were peaceful (at least peaceful for a system that suffered over 1000 ship loses in 24 hours). VI 1 station was selected as primary because when Rut got to 4C-B7X month ago this station was least populated. Even though Archentar had Interdiction Nullifier and safe undock bookmark I have decided to wait till the station clears before undocking.

In the mean time I have checked Jita prices for the merchandise and found out that it is still profitable. It was 600 MISK at that time, so the operation was still in “go”. Dee took the duty of patrolling vicinity of the VI 1. Since she was in Reaper, she was jumping between bookmarks at 100-300 km from the camp. It wasn’t long before hostile fleet moved to the second station leaving one Drake and two bubbles behind. This was a sign for Archentar, who quickly made his way to a safe spot with batch of precious BPOs.

First part of the plan was complete. The easy part. Hard one was to actually get the stuff to Jita. The shortest route from Outer Ring to High Sec leads through Syndicate. Various killboard entries from that day show that it leads through various cloning facilities as well. Given that, I picked following route: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/route/4C-B7X: … ma:-3KNK-A

The idea was to have Dee leading the way with Archentar one system behind. Well, all went pretty smooth, systems on the route were pretty empty, at least to the point then Dee crashed into gatecamp in DY-F70. Thanks to tactical bookmarks, Archentar managed to go further, to FD53-H, but intel suggested that O-ZXUV may contain another gate camp. Jumping further without scout was assessed as too risky, so Dee was ordered to get back. She resurrected in 4C-B7X, but it occurred that she will be able to reach Archentar faster if she starts from one of High Sec stations. But the only way to get there was to die again.

Dee undocked from her cloning facility in 4C-B7X in fully armed Reaper with truly suicidal intentions. There were several combat ships around, so she targeted nearest Hurricane, set orbit at 1 km and opened fire with Civilian Autocannon. Overview reported several ongoing target locks on her rookie ship and first energy bursts impacted her shields. Then, out of the blue, whole hostile fleet disengaged and warped away. I guess the sheer determination of young pilot scarred them off. She had to warp to VI 1 station to finally get podded.

Once back in High Sec and in fresh Reaper, she scouted the rest of the way to FD53-H and to my surprise there was no camp at all. Without any further adventures, Archentar made it to Jita.

Later that day, once enough ISK returned from market, Rut tried his luck with BPO run. Dee went back as forward scout. This time VIII 1 station provided the plans, as no pirates cared to guard it. In order to avoid dangerous DY-F70 neighborhood, Rut went bit longer route: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/route/4C-B7X: … YQ:-X-M2LR This time, no-one even attempted to disrupt the operation.

In the end, whole operation, including both runs and waiting for window of opportunity, took about 4 hours and provided a lot of fun and profit in “dare to be bold” spirit. Of course there were many hours of planning and preparation before that but it was well worth it. After all such opportunity is not a common thing in New Eden.

Fly like you’ve never flown before,

Split Infinity Alliance

Hello everyone!

This is a quick blog post to let you all guys know that we have an alliance underway and that we have the following goals:

Short-term:

- Get to empower this new alliance with corporations with similar mindset as we have

Mid-term:

- Move into deep 0.0 (we won’t be alone in doing that ofc)

Long-term:

- Focus on high-end wormhole raids (we already know how to do that)

- Learn and be among the first to deal with the upcoming Incursions

We’ll be holding sov in the not-so-far future – but please don’t ask me to give you details on what/where/how etc. cause I can’t

What I do want from you is to let me know if you and your corp would consider joining us :-)

We are looking for:

- Active PVP corps that want to be based out of 0.0

- Active PVE corps to deal with high-end wormholes and Incursions (PVP experience required)

- Active Industrial corps that would love to mine some high-end minerals in deep 0.0 (PVP experience preferred)

We are getting ready for our next big bold move and if you would like to be part of this don’t hesitate to drop me an evemail in-game!

I’ll be able to share some more information in the near future – so stay tuned!

SI Radio the Eco-Terrorists?

SI Radio the Eco-Terrorists?

“Unofficial” Press Secretary Report – We are not Eco-Terrorists!

Tasha Aramata – 2010.11.10

Contrary to current speculation, but SI Radio’s latest exploits in the Nalu system should not incline anyone to believe that SI Radio associates itself with the eco-terrorist  groups inhabiting the outter systems of the Amarrian Empire.

The fact of the matter is this:

While conducting standard operations consistent with wormhole exploration, SI Radio was contacted by a friendly source stating that they had witnessed a cruelty beyond the imagination to one of EVE’s most beautiful beasts… the Orca.

We here at SI Radio like to think of ourselves as pro “Gallente Green” in policie.  So the SI Radio Fleet Commander dispatched assets to confirm the accusations.  To the Fleet Commander’s amazement the accusations were indeed true.  The scouts reported that an Orca sat unattended floating in an asteroid belt.  Not only had it been left abandoned, but several Hulks sat around the magnificent beast keeping it trapped in place.  These Hulks would then periodically force the Orca to consume massive amounts of ore that they delivered to it.  It was speculated that the only reason the abandoned Orca had not fled to the deeper parts of space, was that the sadistic Hulk pilots were intimidating the poor Orca to stay in place through the use of their targeting systems.

Angered for such a lack of respect for the poor Orca, the Fleet Commander rallied his fleet to initiate operations to free the Orca, which was quickly given the name Operation Free Whilly.  One pod pilot dutifully offered up his Blackbird for the suicide mission of breaking the inhumane bonds that the Hulks held over the Orca, while several other pilots offered up their assistance to Sheppard the poor Orca to safety…  and with the only violence coming at the hands of Concord, as punishment for the EMP burst in high security space, Whilly was freed without further incident.

The Fleet Commander staying true his Amarrian heritage had a control collar immediately installed upon the beast, and placed Whilly up for auction, so that it may spend the rest of its noble life… in noble service to the empire.  ***NOTE – Amarrian laws dictates the humane treatment of its ships of service***

Thanks for tuning in…

The Death of Capsuleer!

SI Radio Corp Member Cixx Angeliia

Fellow Blog readers now is the time to band together to protect the hard work of some great Capsuleers!
For those of you who own an IPhone you will no doubt have installed the app called Capsuleer. If you havnt then you have really missed out!
Sadly it has come to a time where the efforts of keeping such a fantastic app running have become tough to maintain and unless something is done this great Application will soon cease to be. It is because of this that i beg you to head on over to Nashh Kadavr’s fantistic blog at http://nashhkadavreveblog.blogspot.com and sign up for the petition to keep Capsuleer running. Whilst you are there if you are not already a fan of Nashh’s work i urge you to start reading his blog as the content is epic and will have you hooked instantly :)
Lets not let the hard work of Roc Wieler and PyjamaSam go to waste and keep Capsuleer running for many years to come!

Thankyou
