Oh my Pod

For a while now we’ve been pondering on starting a Planet Risk show spin off which would focus more on pure Eve entertainment rather than content bombardment. The reasons behind that are mostly practical.
- Real life catches up with us sometimes, and radio scheduling might render one of us unable to make it for the show.
- A weekly barrage of 3 hour wormhole content is quite massive, and some weeks even if we do love the whole “live and unedited” approach, there’s just not enough content accumulated to fill a show, forcing us to reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyyy sssssstttrrreeeeettttcccchhhh topics beyond any recognition.
- Sometimes we have an urge to be random.. I mean more random than we usually are…
Tonight, given the fact that Quivering Palm has taken a shuttle to Serbia and it’s doubtful he’ll be able to make it in time for tonight’s show, we’ll be debuting our new show.. the “Oh my Pod” show.
Oh my Pod will follow the live, unedited, unscripted sandbox model (gimme my butterflies) of Planet Risk, but without any “educational” value. In fact it’s going to be random, abrasive, full of music, Rated R for Retarded and all those nitty gritty things that can make you wish you could have those 3 hours of your life back.. uh.. I mean.. yeah..
Of course, Oh My Pod being spontaneous both on its scheduling and its “content”, it will only be a live show and no podcast of it will be available (so make sure you tune in for it).

For tonight’s show we shall:
- Talk about the Alliance Tournament 7 and the results after the first weekend, what should we expect on the 2nd round and much much more about the greatest Alliance Tournament yet!
- Discuss in more detail our learnings and experiences from the Siege of Planet Risk that happened last week, and talk about how a proper wormhole POS should be fitted!
- Answer the questions you ask from our official channel in-game OTHER\SIRADIO
- Discuss the Poll Results – it was such a heated subject we decided to keep the same Poll for the second week… or we slacked and forgot to change it… pick whatever you like :-p
- Play tunes that you like (so if the music breaks suck – you only got yourself to blame!) (No commercial music on the podcast mate =P )
- We shall be joined – LIVE – UNCUT and TOTALY UNPREPARED (it’s so funny because it’s true!) by an amazing list of guests including but not limited to:

Back in Planet Risk!

So after some legendary parties and even more legendary hangover tales in Jovian space we took the long road back to our beloved system!
During the few moments of clear thinking that we had over the past couple of weeks however, we did spend some time to plan what we want to do in the next few months – not only for our corp, but also for the show, this website and the wormholeer community.
First of all, we do have some exciting stuff planed for the next show:
- We will have Merinid Dormer, our Industrial expert and miner-supreme, joining us on the show, and he will talk about his field of expertise (he offered to buy us the Quafe for the next show too! w00t!) with good advice for all
- We will be tackling POS fittings and best practices, that we missed on the previous show
- We will be talking about T3 production and the current T3 market status – also will be looking into some of the T3 ship setups we think of using inside wspace (make sure to submit your vote in our poll!!)
- We will evaluate the 1.5 patch and give you our version of the patch notes
- Our weekly “Captain’s Log” of what happened in Planet Risk…
- …and much much more!
Secondly, we have the PVP Alliance Tournament coming up in September, and since we will be covering it in various forms through Split Infinity Radio, we’ll give you an idea of what to expect… (I promised not to reveal anything or I would be thrown out of the POS shields) …nuff to say we have some really cool stuff in store for our listeners, and some PVP experts who will be on-air with us to talk about the tournament and what to expect!
Also, we are continuing to grow our content of templates and useful resources for Wormholeers out there and we will soon have a final version to share, not only for the colonization process but also for the tactics for fighting Sleepers, as well as tons of wormhole-fu.
Last, but not least, we are finalizing our fleet for farming class 5 sites and we will have some really interesting stories and best practices to share in the following weeks…

Sensitive dependence on initial conditions

Following suit tonight with Episode 2 of the Planet Risk show, we have decided to add a bit more of wormhole qualities in the show. Qualities such as randomness and unpredictability (and a bit more of the spiked Quafe). The experience of the first episode taught us that strictly scripted and organized podcasts tend to give the listeners of the live show the feeling that we have built a wall around our structure and we don’t want anybody messing with it.
Notwithstanding, the Planet Risk show thrives upon listener interaction with the hosts, and as such episode 2, while having specific keynotes, will tread a bit more on the random and chaotic side.
On the “structured” side of our show, we will be discussing -among others- ship fittings and fleet compositions for sleeper encounters, wspace POS fitting and management and keeping up on our “story arc” of “Is wspace colonization really worth it” we are going to investigate the harvester’s perspective.
On an unrelated note, reports have been circulating regarding rogue drones interfering with our communication channels . We assure you that these are just rumors and that our communication channels are rigid and secure.
The Pros, The Cons …and the spiked Quafe

Join us in a series of episodes in The Planet Risk Show while we uncover the secrets of living inside wormholes!
We want to get things moving in the first episodes by first trying to answer the question non-wormholeers have been asking since day one of Apocrypha:
Is long-term colonization of Wormhole Space worth it?
In the following weeks we are going to answer that question from various standpoints and perspectives, starting this Wednesday the 29th of July on Episode 1 with the Pirate’s perspective: “Yarr or Narr?”
Following suit in the next episodes, our ever growing pool includes but is not limited to:
- The Harvester’s Perspective: “Look at the size of this rock!”
- The Carebear’s Perspective: “Look ma.. I’m AFK grinding teh Sleepers!!!”
- The Industrialist’s Perspective: “I CAN HAZ TENGU!”

That’s what showed up on the Local channel of our very own wormhole system – Planet Risk – yesterday.
At the time there was Merinid in his Hulk mining some rocks and myself sleeping in our POS, while Sengiria was hauling the ore back in the hangar.
All where AFKing… all? well not all…
A guy with some big set of steel inertia stabilizers (yeah you got that mental picture right) was not AFK but instead warped to our Hulk and we saw that sweet line in Local… “300M or you die!”
To keep the story short, the hulk died and the guy left since we where too slow to respond..
Given this incident and a couple of recent posts I found (troll) relating to Piracy and Wormholes – we decided to make our first “official” episode of The Planet Risk Show have a YAARRR theme
