CSM Debate Live: Round 2

Following on the success of the first round of the CSM candidates debate, we have fast organized the second round.

Coming up this Wednesday, November 11th at 21:00 EVE time on the Planet Risk Show, CSM candidates will battle it out by presenting themselves and their platform, answering to questions posed by the Planet Risk show hosts, other candidates, and finally the listeners.

The candidates that so far have reserved a spot for this round are:

Alekseyev Karrde
Herschel Yamamoto
Stormaxe Titanothere

During the show, listeners will have the chance to discuss the performance of the  candidates in the “CSM DEBATE” channel in-game, where they will also pose their questions during the fourth part of the debate.

The debate will be broadcast live on Split Infinity Radio.

PS: If you are unfamiliar with the CSM concept we strongly urge you to get acquainted with it. It’s in every one’s best interest to get the right people in the council, and through this ensure that we’ll eventually get a better gaming experience. Remember to vote and spread the word of awareness to your “neighbors” in New Eden.

How does a CSM #4 Candidate go about participating in the live debates?

Stumbling upon the first set was fortunate enough only because CCP posted on their site a link to this.

Here we are on the second podcast and none of the candidates have even been officially invited to participate?

For such a great podcast last week I expected at least some sort of effort to let all the candidates know that this was going on, particularly since one of the major themes of the first set of commentary from the candidates was that of improving communication and creating interest in the CSM process.

Please help us help you get the word out about your podcast

    Hello Prodigal,

We have posted about the upcoming debate rounds in various threads in EVE Online, and in forums that are created for the CSM exclusively like the Assembly Hall.

If we where to have 0 responses we would assume that we did something wrong, however some candidates did get in touch with us and thus had round 1.

I need to point out that we are not sponsored by CCP to run these series of debates nor we have any kind of personal gain by doing them. We do these series on our own because we care about the CSM and want to spread the word out and help those who want to participate to get their voice and platform heard.

If you are interested to participate, I believe there are still some slots open. We will be more than happy to have you on the next show, on the 11th of November for the second round of the debate. Please drop an email to qna@planetriskshow.com to register.

Thank you QP for the info.

I appreciate the invite and apologize for missing the announcements on the Eve Online forums. As you can appreciate, the amount of reading required to keep up on the various discussions on the Eve Online boards can be exhausting at times.

I think it would be safe to speak on behalf of all the CSM Candidates and the community at large in thanking yourself, LA and anyone else involved in Planet Risk and/or the show for the time and commitment it takes to manage a site and organize community events that promote the CSM and the latest Election.

Unfortunately I am traveling Wednesday and over the first few days the poles open however I will drop you an email in hopes to catch a round 3 (if possible) the next week or set up some other arrangment.

    Cheers,

    Prodigal

There are only two forums that candidates (or delegates, to be honest) really need to keep up with: Assembly Hall and Jita Speakers Park–even if all the do is skim topics and not actually READ the threads themselves. To the most cursory skim of Assembly Hall topics, a thread with the words “CSM Debate” in the title should jump right out at any CSM candidate who’s proactively looking for opportunities to reach out to voters. It’s not like the thread was hidden deep in the forum–it’s been on the first couple of pages pretty consistently.

Thanks for presenting these debates. The info will be helpful in deciding who gets my vote. Since I am a noob (and will be listening tomorrow afternoon UTC -5) it would be nice if you could talk about the mechanics of voting.
